Jessa Duggar has publicly taken sides as the fallout from brother Josh’s cheating scandal engulfs the 19 Kids Kids And Counting family.
Clearly wanting to distance herself from her older brother, the 22-year-old has directed her followers on social media to her father-in-law Michael Seewald’s scathing attack on Josh titled ‘Grief, Shame, and taking the LORD’s name in Vain.’
Taking sides: Pregant Jessa Duggar, seen here on Saturday with husband Ben Seewald in Charleston, North Carolina, urged her social media followers to read her father-in-law’s scathing blog post about her brother Josh
Her husband Ben Seewald, 20, re-tweeted his wife’s tweet encouraging people to read what his father had written.
Michael Seewald called out Josh Duggar for being a ‘hypocritical Christian,’ ‘wicked’ and living ‘a covert and extensive lifestyle of evil.’
‘Sadly, he had deceived us all,’ he wrote on his blog.
Harshly critical: In supporting her father-in-law Michael Seewald’s faith-based opinions about her older brother, Jessa has clearly decided to distance herself from Josh. Ben is seen with his dad in the Instagram snap
‘Hypocritical Christian’: Josh, pictured with wife Anna and their fourth child Meredith Grace, born on July 19, was branded as ‘wicked’ by Michael Seewald who said the 27-year-old dad had ‘lived a covert lifestyle of evil
Jessa’s decision to support her father-in-law’s views came just hours after she shared a video on her personal Facebook page on how to resist temptation to commit adultery.
Jessa, who’s expecting her first child with Ben in two months time, posted a link to a three minute teaching video by Pastor John Piper, founder of desiringGod.org.
Biblical teaching: Jessa also shared a link to a video by Pastor John Piper on desiring God.org in which he said faith in Jesus leads to a holy and sober life and true believers will not commit adultery
Their brother’s victims: As children, Jessa and her older sister Jill were molested by Josh who was a teenager at the time. When the revelations surfaced in May, it forced TLC to cancel 19 Kids And Counting
It’s a huge change of heart for Jessa who, in June, defended her older brother in a TV interview with Megyn Kelly on Fox News.
Jessa and her sister Jill, 24, were among five underage girls who were molested by Josh when he was a teen.
TLC cancelled the Duggar family’s long-running reality series in response to the public outcry that followed the revelation.
Jessa told Kelly that Josh wasn’t a ‘child molester or a pedophile or a rapist’ but a ‘a young boy in puberty and a little too curious about girls.’
She added: ‘And he made some bad choices, but, really, the extent of it was mild – inappropriate touching on fully clothed victims, most of it while girls were sleeping.’
Parental disappointment: Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are said to be devastated by their eldest son’s behavior and actions and said they pray he repents and changes his ways
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar sent their eldest son to faith-based rehab in 2003 to deal with his behavior.
They have responded the same way to the news that he used the Ashley Madison infidelity website, repeatedly cheated on his wife Anna, the mother of his four young children, and viewed online porn.
Last Wednesday, the couple issue a statement saying Josh had checked into a long-term treatment program which they hoped would lead him to ‘complete repentance and sincere change.’
It’s believed the 27-year-old at the Reformers Unanimous rehab center in Rockford, Illinois, that offers a six-month stint of prayer, Bible study and manual labor as a cure for addiction.

Meanwhile, it’s claimed that Josh’s scandalous secret life is threatening to rip apart the extended Duggar family.
‘It’s like we’re all in the midst of a tornado,’ a source close to the Duggars told this week’s issue of People magazine.
Josh’s wife Anna is reeling from the admissions made by her husband of seven years and several members of her family have been urging her to take the kids and leave,
‘They’re very angry,’ an insider told People. ‘They want her and the kids to get away from him.’
‘Some in Anna’s family would really like (Josh) to just disappear,’ the source continued. ‘It doesn’t seem like she’s going to leave him, but they’re just hoping she will be left alone to figure out her own feelings on this matter.’
And on Tuesday, Jill Duggar acknowledged that the Duggar family is going through a tough time in a blog update on the website she and husband Derek Dillard set up to share news about their Central American missionary work.
‘August has been a busy month for us and as so many of you know it has ended on a sad note for my extended family,’ Jill wrote. ‘Please do pray for our family. We are so thankful for God’s grace during difficult days.’
Left the country: Jill, 24, and Derick Dillard, 26, and their baby son Israel are now living in El Salvador where they are part of a Christian mission. Jill said Tuesday these are ‘sad and difficult days’ for the Duggars
Sad situation: Dillon King, pictured with Amy Duggar, has also spoken out and said Josh cheating on his wife is ‘really sad.’ Dillon and Amy are set to wed this weekend
Dillon King, who’s set to wed Jessa’s cousin Amy Duggar this weekend, is also speaking out about Josh’s double life.
‘It’s really sad,’ he told Us Weekly. ‘And I don’t think it matters who (he’s cheated) with. Cheating is cheating. The fact of the matter is he cheated.’
The publication claimed Wednesday that the facility where Josh is being treated has no licensed therapists or doctors.
‘It looks at the spiritual aspect, which is that once a person’s heart is right with God, His power can overcome an addiction,’ a source close to the organization told Us Weekly.
‘It’s all the same curriculum for all the different types of addictions.’
In addition to daily Bible study and prayer, program participants at the Reformers Unanimous rehab facility are required to attend services at nearby North Love Baptist Church twice a week and a program chapter meeting there each Friday.
According to RadarOnline, though, worshippers at the church said there’s been no sign of the father-of-four.
This past Sunday, the 19 Kids And Counting star was also absent from the group that attended services.
‘Josh definitely wasn’t there,’ a churchgoer told RadarOnline. ‘It was very strange.’
Faith based: The treatment center is connected with the North Love Baptist Church and rehab program participants are required to attend services twice a week and a program chapter meeting there each Friday
