Natty Blink : Weting I do
TELL US ABOUT YOUR LIFE BEFORE AND AFTER MTN COMPETITION:
My life before the MTN competition was a lil bit drifted from music, I had moved to Douala after my HND in marketing where I went to film school. KM professional film academy to study film directing immediately I graduated I moved back to my home town. A Month later I entered the MTN competition which was actually just for fun Lol. But amazingly turned into something great! Life after the competition was busy, fun, and serious. Now that I was done with school and I had the great opportunity I wanted to seize it, take advantage of it, concentrate 100% on my career which is what I am doing now
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR PROFESSION:
What I love most about my profession is the fact that my job creates pleasure to both myself and the people listening or watching. I love the stage, the lights, when I’m up there, I feel like I can be anything or anyone, I feel satisfied like that is where I belong. And the fact that you can bring change through your art? Now that’s where the money is!
ARE YOUR PARENTS STRICT? DO YOU THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE STRICT
Oh my mom could have been any more strict Lol. I lost my dad when I was 6, so its always been my mom and my siblings of course watching my back cause I’m the last out of 6 kids. And my mom was super strict. I say was, cause she kind of gets it now that I can handle certain things on my own because of the foundation she gave me. And I thank God for that everyday and I’m so happy and grateful she was the way she was cause hey ” train up a child in the way she should go, and she won’t depart from it” lol
ARE YOU A GO GETTER? OR DO YOU LET PEOPLE GET THEIR WAY:
Hmmm… I’d say I’m in between Lol I mean when I want something I go for it but then I was like to take into consideration the people that get affected or are involved in any decision made by me
HOW HARD DO YOU PUSH YOURSELF
Sometimes I’d say I don’t push myself enough, cause I like to get laid back and not struggle or worry so much. Like I said sometimes. But I do believe in hard work and thinking out of the box, living your comfort zone to make things happen when necessary.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON AT THE MOMENT:
Right now I’m working on a couple of songs. And then my team and I can pick one to release as my next single. We wouldn’t want the Blinkers to have any thing mediocre lol
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS OF THE CAMEROON ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY:
I think the Cameroon entertainment industry is growing faster than we think. I think people are less scared to invest, the artists are working harder than ever and taking their job seriously which is the key to success. At the same time I think there is room for everyone, so why hate? Let’s grow some more before we get vicious yeah?
HOW WAS YOUR CHILDHOOD:
My childhood was…Lol crazy, I never smiled when I was a child Lol and I cried a lot and when my siblings made fun of how I looked when I frowned or cried, I did it the more Lol but generally I’d say I had an amazing childhood. We were so close my siblings and I and our mom. And I’d give anything for us to be in the same room again
WERE YOU A MEMBER OF ANY BAND/GROUPS PRIOR TO THIS SUCCESS:
I was a member of a group but not for long cause we created it in order to participate in the NESCafe competition, I think that was in 2009? Or 2008? I’m not so sure. But those were good days, we made it to the finals but unfortunately we didn’t win.
WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT FROM NATTY THIS YEAR:
I think this year you’ll be seeing me in different fields of show business not just music. I’m not allowed to give any details as of yet but stay tuned
ARE YOU SINGLE, ENGAGED, MARRIED?
As far as my marital status goes….I’d like to keep that a secret for now. I mean a girl can have secrets right? Lol
ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LOVE TO ADD?
I’d love to say its never how fast but how far, I know this sounds cliché but its true. I don’t care how hard the road to success may seem, or about all the delays and strays on the way, one thing I know for sure is dreams do come true, and u never really are done until u say u are. And I think u should do the same. This theory doesn’t only work for people in show business but for every aspect in life. And…to conclude, thank you kamer360.com for this interview!
